Foam rolling is a self-myofascial release technique where we can apply myofascial gentle pressure on muscle knots leading to a release of muscular tension. It’s used to help reduce soreness and pain, help muscle relaxation, improve tissue recovery, correct muscle imbalances, and increase flexibility and range of motion.

Contraindications/precautions to foam rolling:

  • Fresh injuries when inflammation can be at its peak. 
  • Certain stages of neuropathy. 
  • Pregnancy. 
  • Diabetes.
  • Hypertension. 
  • Osteoporosis.
